This one-time configuration is useful, but it is not the case anymore. Now everything you install on a Solaris machine (and on Linux as well) must be linked in a way to the root. This means that, when you run the kernel from boot or shell on a standard DOS machine, the installer will need to be renamed to _beta.
According to the official blueprint for the Solarisk apps, which can be found here, all apps that are required for this SolarISK-enabled machine must be included in the update set via the TCP/IP port or UDP port.
However, there is still an optional release mode available to the Solariisk appbot which accepts them all. This does not have to be the full release, as these are not members of the open source repositories and were never meant to have its own repos.In general, they are the essential apps needed to run Solarissk on a single process and run their applications. These apps must not be optimized for the mobile internet and should be able to run on multiple CPU cores. If you do not have these in your system, then you will have to install them by yourself and recompile the code in order for them to run.
This last step is not for me, as I will use LibreOffice and Microsoft Office and will therefore be able just to "make the changes" without any tweaking. However, if you use Microsoft Office, and you are using the euro and libreoffice version, then this tutorial may prove helpful for you.
